VS Flame Hyenard - 12:23 Red Meets Up with The Professor - 16:44 === MOERO MOERO MOERO This stage was one of the hardest ones for me during the first walkthrough. And it actually wasn’t that bad for me now. Maybe because I learned how to play through it after 4-5 hours of attempts last year? This section has bombs that will explode once you get close enough to them. They can kill Injured Repliroid if you’re not fast enough. Definely pick Axl for this stage - his Rolling ability is a bliss here. You also will need him to copy a new type of Repliroid enemy - Flyer, since one of the injured Repliroids is stuck in the air for whatever reason. Once you pass through the second gate - one of the most problematic parts of this section starts - Everything explodes and radars are everywhere. The latter bastards will ALWAYS send you back a few meters upon hitting you and you’ll lose time. When you see Repliroids that are close to bombs or radars - Roll up to them. Also don’t miss a Capsule with Buster Parts. They will make X more powerful and useful at this point of the game. Second section is in 3D and it has A LOT OF RADARS that were constantly pushing me off the platform, not giving me any chance to get back to the platform from which I fell into insta-killing pool of lava. Also this stage has a damn lot of enemies in comparison to others ones, don’t you agree? It’s actually because this stage was used in time-attack mode exclusive to X7’s... I think E3 Demo? Or something like that. You had to destroy 30 enemies within a certain time. You’ll need to have one character with the third Power chip though so you won’t get tossed around like a ragdoll by every single attack aimed at you. This section also has a skip that can be done with X’s Glide Armor Foot Parts, but I didn’t do that here as I had to save all Repliroids and get a Heart-Tank (which is located on a pipe that might or might not start to spit some gas at you. It only did that once for me in this Anniversary Collection release for whatever reason. Maybe it doesn’t load correctly in this version) And then, you should meet the most famous boss of this game - Flame Hyenard. His design is asymmetrical and some people seem to forget that his right shoulder doesn’t burn. And judging from the way he acts, I can say that he probably has some Asian-belief’s origin as well. The one about three flames on person’s body - one on the head and other two on shoulders. In short, if you will cover one of the flames, evil spirits will use this as the way to get inside and then possess you. Since literally every member of Red Alert were somehow infected by Sigma Virus (some more than the others), it makes sense. And I honestly feel bad for this poor hyena. I can feel he wasn’t like that originally from his dialogue with Axl alone (listen closely to the way they both talk). Too bad this scene was butchered so hard in localization. The boss itself is... a mess, but you have three possible strategies against him actually. First, you can get on top of this giant Gazelle mechaniloid with Zero so Hyenard would summon his clones and run in circles around you. You just have to hit the real one with Suiretsusen which should take a large chunk out of boss’ HP. You can also just bunny hop from one side to the other with X or Axl while avoiding the rockets and shooting at Hyenard who would jump from the neck of the Gazelle to its back and backwards as you bunny hop around: But I came out with a better solution. It’s kinda risky, however, because you can slide off Gazelle when it will be turning the corner. Over all, this fight is easy when you know what to do, but it’s still a long... yet somehow creative mess. We get the first scene about Red and the Professor. It happens a little bit after Red and Axl’s hunting mission for Aluce and Cedar. The “mysterious“ Professor meets Red and offers him his own help... Let’s just assume Sigma had some top-class disguise that the dev team didn’t have time to develop, OK? Or else Red is completely blind.
