「ロックマンX8」Rockman X8 Playthrough (JAP) — Part 8, Booster Forest - Bamboo Pandemonium

Well, I started using RetroArch yesterday, but it still doesn’t run PS2 games properly, so this is still the best I can do without using a laggy X Anniversary Collection 2. I have the collection so I still think it’s fully legal for me to play in X8 on an emulator that has troubles with lighting and transparent effects. The last Irregular stage for me. The one that actually makes a lot of sense to be the last one. This is the closest place to be closely related to Jacob (being high in the sky and having rockets everywhere). Do you now understand the other reason why I always pick Optic Sunfloward first? Sure, I’ve missed a really interesting dialogue in this playthrough with Sunfloward and hunters when former is encountered after 4 Irregulars were already defeated, but luckily I’ve recorded it while going through the game the second time. You can watch the alternative dialogues here: Also, when I was just starting to play in X8 for the first time ever, this was the first stage I chose. But I wasn’t able to beat it back then so I decided to go for a sunflower and they actually was the first Irregular I’ve defeated (Not counting Crabz-Y, of course). So, here’s that too. Back on track, this stage was a pain to edit. I tried to learn the timing when the Ride Armor music goes off, but then I just throw it all out the window and tried to at least make the change sound more realisting and less painful to edit. But this stage isn’t all that bad if you’re already used to the character controls and already know how to control the Ride Armor well. It still has some bad moments (mostly when you want to get to the boss with Ride Armor, when you need to get to the Capsule or when you need to get that Rare Metal near the end of the stage), but it was easier then Sunfloward’s stage which you will need to beat at least two times as you can get only one Rare Metal with 5-7 high ranks and another one if you went through all of the courses perfectly. At least this stage doesn’t require the Player to backtrack at all, as ya’ll can see right here. Also... yeah, broken lighting effects. Seriously, I tried fixing them. But you don’t want to see how much it would kill your eyes if I wouldn’t change anything in the video settings for the emulator. Come to think of it, Bamboo Pandemonium would’ve been a great “Did You Know Rocket Science?“ Host. He also is the only one who mentions that “this old world *wants* to be destroyed“ which is kinda philosophic in a way. Angels are rising to the Heavens, am I right? Yes, localization did the pun with the word “Pandemonium“ (even through it could named it “Bamboo Panda“ or something, like localization did to other names some games ago), but the original left it as it is which makes me feel wierd. This boss isn’t that hard, you just need to react fast and attack him with his weakness - Burn Kokekokker’s weapons, buuuut theeeeen the overdrive starts. You need to dash\use Tactical Rolling just in time and you also need to stay really close to Pandemonium so you can dodge it. At the very least, Pandemonium wont do that three times right after entering Overdrive, unlike some plant we’ve beaten some time ago. If you have enough health, you should survive the hit and then you’ll be able to finish big bad panda off with Double Attack. Act 2 is done. I know, this game doesn’t really have acts, but when the Stage Select music changes - then this is what I’d call “The next act“. There’re a total of 3 Stage Select themes, so this game has 3 acts then. Back at the base, Hunters still have no idea what is actually going on around the world. But then, they recieve a strange transmission... Yes, it’s Sigma. He contacts the Hunters and tells them something about “evolution“ and the new world they’re trying to built. And after that, hunters settle on to get to the Moon to find Sigma and finish him off, as well as to resque Lumine. But first, we need toget to the top of Orbital Elevator occupied by Irregulars.
