「ロックマンX4」Rockman X4, Zero’s Side Playthrough (JAP, ENG SUB) — Part 0, Sky Lagoon - Eregion

Well, I wanted to start this playthrough after I’m done with X’s Side, but Zero’s Side will probably be the first one I’ll beat. I just... wanted to see more Zero and Iris and finally experience Zero’s Side in its fullest with my own hands. I already said everything i wanted in X’s Side playthrough’s description for its 0th episode. Check it out if you need more context to what’s going on. Zero’s Side starts rather wierd - on Zero’s Nightmare which him seeing images of his past and talking to his creator he doesn’t remember. This nightmare is rather... gorey for a game franchise that has rating “for everyone“, really. I actually was kinda lost when I first saw this (along with entirety of X4) and game’s rating. It is absent on japanese release, but I was able to find a mention of X4 being rated E for everyone. Kinda makes me question of those people just skipped every cutscene. And Zero swears a lot in this game compare to even X8 in my opinion. Did he really got this cold after X4?.. Everything is pretty much the same as on X’s Side (with a different music playing which I absolutely LOVE), but at the end of Sky Lagoon Area 2, Zero meets up with Iris who is in a rather bad condition. Yeah, she was just kidnapped by a huge dragon-like Mechaniloid that later went on crushing a city in the sky, what was I expecting? And yeah, we should remember that there’s some kind of romance going on between the two. It kinda begun in Soul Eraser, but I’m yet to get my hands on GB titles so you can’t really see when this releationship started. Eregion is killed, Colonel shows up, Zero tells him he was protecting his sister and... then Colonel just explodes when Zero asks him and Repliforce soldiers drop their weapons and go to the interrogation at Irregular Hunters HQ so they won’t be considered Irregulars (which is something that happened to Axl several years after the Great Repliforce War, although Irregular Hunters’ base was where he was heading to so here he was fine with it). I know there’s a thing called “pride“ and a true warrior won’t ever throw away their weapon (a true warrior is rather die with it than live without it), but holy moly, Colonel, you have a sister that is connected to you on DNA-level, did you forget about her? And thus, the war began. Iris decided to join Irregular Hunters for a while, assisting Zero in his missions (being a Navigator...? She does not give directions while playing the stage, like Double, but she was learning to become a Navigator in Soul Eraser). Her only request to Zero here is to let Colonel live... What a poor little girl, sigh...
