Egg-Breaking (1962)

Skegness, Lincolnshire or Bognor Regis, West Sussex. C/U shot of a hand breaking an egg and dropping it into fryer (masses of eggs frying already). M/S of two chefs breaking eggs. Two piles of large cartons filled with eggs are placed next to them. Tilt to two waste bins full of egg shells. When five thousand people want an egg for breakfast, egg breaking burgeons into an art. This is the case in the Skegness holiday camp in Bognor where chefs have to fry thousands of eggs every morning to feed hungry holidaymakers. “Which would you sooner be - the crowing cockerel or the humble hen who produces the goods?“ - asks the narrator.
