I had a lovely 2 egg omelette for my breakfast this morning. It reminded me of this great newsreel story about eggs! An Egg Marketing Board scheme ensures that only fresh eggs are sold in the shops. Those unsold, 10 days after leaving the packing stations, are sent to a factory for breaking. Then, the mixture is poured into cans and frozen ready for use in baking. Exterior - truck load of eggs arrive at works, crates of eggs go into works. Reverse angle interior, crates are stacked. Girl takes eggs from carton and places in bucket. Bucket is then transferred to trolley. Trolley is pushed to lift. Trolley arrives at the testing floor, and girl places buckets of eggs beside testers. Testing by sniffing of eggs. Good and approved eggs go into container. Girl with trolley picks up containers of good eggs. Containers with eggs poured into vat. Pan from vat across processing plant to final vat where whisked eggs are fed into can. CU of this process. Can of eggs move down ramp, is weighed, topped up and then sealed.
