Made in the late 1920s or early 1930s as part of Kodak’s educational film library, this silent Eastman Classroom Film takes the viewer around Mexico. It begins with a short history of the cradle of civilization along the tropics, followed by an explanation of the unique climate zones of Mexico based on their different altitude. It shows resources in the different regions such as oil, sugar cane, cattle farming, sisal fiber, silver mining, and hydroelectricity production. There are also shots of daily life in small and medium sized towns. Finally, it ends in Mexico City, with some stunning shots of the Catedral Metropolitana de Mexico, street life, and the Chapultepec Park.
