Murmur Mori, Medieval Music and Jongleur poetry of Italy.
This rymhes from the โLibri Memorialiumโ from the Bologna State Archives (Memoriale bolognese 47, 1282, Anthonius Guidonis de Argele, c. 1v.) revive beautiful scenes of everyday life straight from the 13th century. In this โBallataโ, transcribed in full page toghether with other lyrics as you can see from the photos we took during a study visit, narrates the adventures of two women wandering around taverns, cursing the sailors who carry cargo of linene, instead of wine, to the port, claiming that they have no desire to weave, weft or spin.
This lyric contains the first writen evidence of the word โlasagneโ, famous typical dish from Bologna, which points to the Emilian origin of the lexicon.
Music: Mirko Volpe, Silvia Kuro / Lyrics: Archivio di Stato di Bologna, Memoriale bolognese 47, 1282, Anthonius Guidonis de Argele, c. 1v.
