Sibelius Humoresque No. 2 | Leia Zhu (9), Barbican Centre

On 21st Sept 2016, Leia Zhu made her debut at the Barbican Centre (London) with LSSO under the baton of Peter Ash. The Sibelius Humoresque is part of a musical fairy tale “The Minpins“ based on Roald Dahl’s last story. Reviewed by Edward Clark, distinguished music critic and President of the International Sibelius Society -- ‘The astonishing virtuosity of nine-year-old Leia Zhu who threw off Sibelius’s Humoresque Op 87, no 2 with a speed and genuine sense of feeling rivalled, in my experience only by the iconic recording of Aaron Rosand. The audience was left gasping in admiration giving this delightful soloist a huge ovation’ Behind the scene video Professional profile: Website: Facebook: Also on: Twitter: Instagram:
