Wow! A 71 Cuda with #s matching 383, factory purple and white and air conditioned! Registered in Galen Govier’s Chrysler Registry. He also verified the options and documented this is the only one ordered this way. It’s a double fender tag car, it’s been decided. 71 Cuda was low production having only 5,383 hardtops made total of which only 1,168 were 383 automatics
EXTERIOR: What a knock out! The colors are and the billboard decals are outstanding. The 71 is known for it’s quad headlights and gills on the fenders. The body is in excellent shape, no rust. It features the dual scooped hood with racing pins, turn signals on the fenders and painted racing mirrors. Factory In Violet car according to the fender tag, Dodge calls it Plum Crazy. The vinyl top looks great, the color and condition. All the chrome and trim sparkles. Windshield, seals and weatherstrips were replaced. It’s rolling on 15 inch rallye wheels and BFG tires.

Stock manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner etc. It features factory air conditioning, power steering and brakes. All the components look clean and proper. It has correct radiator, shroud and hose clamps. It’s complete with the hooked up squirters, battery is secured and has a disconnect switch, working horns etc. The VIN is stamped on the cowl and core support. It a 2 fender tag car because all the features did not fit on 1 tag!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It’s as purple as the outside, clean solid metal. It has a spare and the jack looks new. Reproduction mat and weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath is rock solid original. The floors, frame rails and rockers all look to be completely original. It has it’s factory undercoat, it’s never even been spray painted over! The mechanics are in good working order, maintained as needed. It has a correct dual exhaust system with mufflers and resonators in the back. It has disc brakes in front, drum in back. E-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is spotless, the starter looks fresh. The 727 Torqueflite automatic is clean. It has an 8 3/4 rear end.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and calibrated this speedometer, serviced the air conditioning with a new expansion valve, compressor and R12 freon. We also repaired the door locks.
The 71 Cuda is one of the most coveted muscle cars from that era. This one really steals the show with the too good to be true colors! A big block with air conditioning put it over the top.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car’s condition in detail.
