Kurd Talks 7 : Ne Mutlu Kürdüm Diyene

Social Experiment. Time for part 7 of my OMETV experiment. Ne Mutlu Kurdum Diyene is a play on the ’Ne Mutlu Turkim Diyene’ saying that Turks say. This saying is used by the population of Turkey and it means “how proud is the one that calls theirselves Turkish“. So I wanted to test what happens If I change it to ’Kurdum’ to show that I am a proud Kurd. This shouldn’t be a problem, but sadly... you’ll see how they react. Throughout my life I have experienced hatred and racism from a lot of Turks. Not all of them, but a majority. I wanted to perform a social experiment to see if they could have a normal conversation with a proud Kurd. Kurdistan is where all Kurds know they are from and belong to, Kurdistan is not associated with any group and is a nation, an area belonging to millions of Kurds and a country in our hearts. Turks always say we are their brothers, but from experience that is until you show yourself to be proud of being a Kurd openly.
