GAME RECAP: Penguins at Sabres () |  Zucker Gives Jagr Salute

The Penguins face off in Buffalo where they debuted their reverse retro Jerseys for the first time. In the 1st period, Jason Zucker got the Penguins on the board first with a goal and celebrates with an iconic Jagr salute. This salute was especially fitting as they are repping “The Robo Pen” on their new jerseys, which was made famous by Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr throughout the 1990s. In the 2nd period, Josh Archibald furthers the Penguins lead early in the middle frame. Buffalo managed to get on the board with a goal from JJ Peterka with only 1:09 left in the period. The 3rd period was off to a great start when Jake Guentzel found the back of the net just 0:08 seconds into the period. Jake’s goal was followed by goals from Tage Thompson and Victor Olofsson, giving the Sabres a 4-3 lead. In attempts to take back the game, the Penguins pull Casey DeSmith from the net and Kyle Okposo and Victor Olofsson scored empty net goals for the Sabres.
