Snaggletooth - Chainsaw Gas Mix (Full Album; 1997) [Hardcore/Sludge Metal]

Snaggletooth is a band of thrash-influenced metalheads from the Rochester, New York area. Their album has a heavy, groove-infused sound, not unlike certain New Orleans bands. It’s slow, sludgey, yet often with a traditional thrash edge. Beyond that it’s difficult (and useless) to try to pigeonhole their style. The songs they serve up are fairly consistent, thick with good riffs, angry vocals and amusing titles and lyrics. Much of the material sounds as raw and unproduced as if it was recorded live in some smoky club at two in the morning.
