Battle-damaged B-24 Liberator landing on August 29th 1943

B-24D Liberator 41-24127 “RIO RITA“ of 403rd Bomb Squadron 43 Bomb Group lands with nosewheel up and two engines out at Ward’s Strip on August 29th 1943. This aircraft repaired and later transferred to a RAAF training unit in 1944, then scrapped after 1952.
