1961 Tonka Rescue Squad Ambulance Restoration

Happy 4th of July! Stay safe out there! I purchased this 1961 Tonka Rescue Squad Ambulance Van Truck off HiBid in January of 2021. It was in dire need of a restoration and missing the boat, ladder, and boat retaining straps. Otherwise everything was complete and outside of being very rusty it was in really great shape. There was some minor pitting after sandblasting however the powder coat primer was able to fill those pits and smoothed out after wet sanding. The grill and bumper were too far gone to nickel plate so I powder coat chromed them instead. Overall I was extremely happy with how this one came out and have been wanting to add one of these to my collection for quite some time. Don’t worry, no sheep were harmed in the making of this video!
