Hawaiʻi Handweavers’ Hui Classes at the Downtown Art Center in Honolulu began on October 6, 2021 with this class: “Woven Shibori Adventure with Ghislaine Chock.“ Watch our students create unique shibori weavings using a loom controlled technique developed by Catherine Ellis in which weft float threads are pulled tight and tied to create a resist for dyeing. The weavings are dyed first with indigo and then overdyed with avocado, madder and onion skin. Come join in the fun at our fiber art studio. Learn with us!
