GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Golden Knights () | A Knight of Firsts

In their second of two match-ups this weekend, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Vegas Golden Knights. Wasting no time, Lars Eller in the offensive zone put a ton of pressure on the Vegas defense, causing a scramble in front of the net. Ryan Graves crashing low into the zone found the loose puck and, with a wrist shot, got his first goal with the Penguins. The remainder of the 1st was fast-paced, hard-played hockey. The Penguins continued to push the pace in the 2nd. With the puck stuck in a scrum below the Vegas goal line, Jeff Carter, Matt Nieto, and Noel Acciari battled to regain possession. The puck bounced backward out of the pile, catching the Vegas goaltender looking the wrong way. Acciari shot the puck in for his first as a Penguin as well. That goal also marked Nieto’s first assist with the Penguins. Pittsburgh led 2-0 against the defending Stanley Cup champions heading into the 3rd. Continuing to use their speed, the Penguins kept the pressure on the Golden Knights, generating chance after chance.
