Vandaag zou Hans Vermeulens 73e verjaardag zijn geweest. Daarom uploaden we deze clip van zijn Sandy Coast uit 1971 uit het programma Pop van Jan de With. Hans Vermeulen (Voorburg, 18 september 1947 – Ko Samui, 9 november 2017) was een Nederlandse zanger, componist, producer, gitarist en toetsenist. Sandy Coast was een Nederlandse popgroep uit Voorburg die vooral eind jaren zestig en begin jaren zeventig populair was. Hun bekendste hits waren ’True love that’s a wonder’ uit 1971 en ’The eyes of Jenny uit 1981’. De leadzanger en componist/tekstschrijver van de groep was Hans Vermeulen. Naast Hans zaten in de groep: Onno Bevoort, Jan Vermeulen en Ron Westerbeek. English: Sandy Coast was a Dutch beat group from Voorburg that was especially popular in the late sixties and early seventies. Their best known hits were ’True love that’s a wonder’ from 1971 and ’The eyes of Jenny’ from 1981. The lead singer of the group was Hans Vermeulen. Hans died on 9 november 2017 in Thailand.
