Gernge Quick Tips - Creating A Fluorescent Light | Cinema 4D Redshift

This quick tip shows how I create Fluorescent Light tubes in Redshift and Cinema 4D. It includes some tips about the correct geometry needed, Area Light settings and some settings to get started with for the material coating the glass tube. This information should be applicable to other render engines, as long as they also have Cylindrical shaped Area Lights, as well as a Standard Surface or Universal Material. Please keep in mind, this will be fairly slow to render, since resolving light being traced through the glass is going to be a challenge to sample well but the results look quite nice. Using a glass tube with thickness, make sure you do not enable “Thin Walled“ on the glass material. 00:00 Intro 00:58 Identifying Everything Needed 01:30 Walkthru Of The Geometry 02:03 Cylinder Area Light Settings 02:38 The Glass Material & Coating 03:56 End Result & Conclusion __________________________ Subscribe: @gernge My Website: Twitter: Instagram:
