Quake Speedrun in 11:42[World Record]

A 5 second improvement over the previous record by Conny “Jukebox“ Wernersson. Never in the world would I have thought that I could reach the levels of the best players in Quake, let alone the man himself. In my most recent commitment to Quake, I started finding solutions to more of my problems and finding answers to how to go faster on every single map. Everything started clicking. It was only a matter of time. The run is not without faults however. Episode 4 is not particularly good, 2:54 is the type of E4 I’ll just let through to see what happens. Then came e1m3, where I should have really reset, committing a cardinal sin and messing up the classic grenade jump, and a lukewarm zombie strat, altogether costing me an eyewatering 8 seconds. However, with nothing to lose and no pressure on me, I completely blitzed Episode 2 and 3, being just 2 seconds behind my marathon record on Episode 2, and tying my Episode 3 record. Had I not messed up so bad on e1m3, I would have entered 11:3X territory. But I do not want to be Mr. Hindsight. I estimate that with a perfect run, a high 11:2X is possible. If Juke ever comes back for some friendly rivalry to achieve that time, I’m more than happy to a give a run for his money. :) Thank you to Chambers for always being there to help, no matter what I nagged him with. Here’s hope I get to submit at least a full id1 demo one more time!
