🇳🇱 🇿🇦 Dutch royal couple had to get through an enraged crowd while visiting Cape Town A group of angry demonstrators met King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife, Queen Maxima, as the couple visited a Cape Town slavery museum on Friday as part of a state visit to South Africa. 🪧 Protestors, among them the indigenous Khoisan people, held posters reading “You are stealing our culture,“ “We were first,“ “We want reparations“ and “You are forgetting us“ as they marched to the museum. They demanded that King Willem-Alexander go beyond merely apologizing and take real action for Dutch slaveholding past.
