X-Particles and C4D: Surface Advection Flags Tutorial. Standard/Physical/Octane/Redshift Render

I’ve had a few enquiries about my “Flag Advection“ post. Basically, I achieved this look using Cinema 4D and X-Particles. I had some spare time, so I thought I would share some knowledge. In this tutorial, I’ll show you some techniques that I used to achieve this look. Also, I will show you how to add geometry and images to your particles, so they will be render-ready for Standard/Physical, Octane and Redshift. I’m using Insydium Fused, but as long as you have a version of X-Particles that has ExplosiaFX, then you can follow along. In my final renders of my original Instagram post I used 1million particles, in this tutorial I use 250,000, so if you want a more defined look to your advection, then a higher particle count the better. The higher the particle count the longer your renders will be. And remember to cache your project before rendering.
