Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin suspended West Bank autonomy talks with the PLO, but Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said they would resume in the next few days. In Gaza, Palestinian representative Faisal Husseini called for a halt to the peace talks, but added the peace process must continue. Following Monday’s attack, the army closed off both the West Bank and Gaza until further notice.
