Kol Dodi - Andalusian Sephardi Song

Vocals once again kindly provided by my mom. This is a traditional Sephardi song from Al-Andalus. The Sephardi Jews are an ethnic subdivision of the Jewish people defined by those having historically inhabited Iberia during the Middle-Ages. Jews were an active, prolific and important minority in Al-Andalus--Haïm Zafrani says, in his book Jews of Andalusia and the Maghreb, that “Indeed, as in so many other areas of Andalusian culture and society, Jews have played an important role in the evolution and preservation of the musical heritage of Al-Andalus throughout its history. From the very beginning, one of Ziryāb’s colleagues at the court of Abd al-Raḥmān II was a fine musician Manṣūr al-Yahūdī (“Mansur the Jew“). I’m not sure what the language is--it seems to be Hebrew, although I could be wrong, and it could be a more specific dialect of the Jewish people of Andalusia.
