Semi-automated MAG welding with Best Welder Part 1/3: V-Groove Root
In this video which is part 1 of 3, we peak into the world of semi-automated MAG welding.
This mini-series are part of a published article in The Welding Society of Finland @suomenhitsausteknillinenyh1782 article and in this part we look a the root run with ceramic backing. The videos and articles have been prepared and written by our team of expert welding teachers in Finland Juha Kauhanen, Tatu Hirvonen, and Ville-Pekka Arasmo
Material: Stainless steel , thickness 10mm
Travel speed is 400-500mm/min with Best Welder from @mv-weldingoy5607 feed and the heat input 0.9–1.2 [Kj/mm]. The welding parameters are pushed to the limits of the welding torch by using Best Welder welding manipulator. At these travel speeds manual welding is challenging, however, the welding quality remains good throughout the welding process thanks to semi-automated welding and good visibility of the welding process.
Cavitar’s ArcLess Vision provides an excellent view into the welding process by efficiently removing the thermal light of the MAG process providing details of the process and allowing the remote operation of the welder to be safe from hazardous UV rays, toxic gases, and in a relaxed position.
In part 2 and 3 we will have a look at the V-Groove face run and 2nd run.
