From a young age Japanese artist Satomimagae began to experiment with writing her own songs, after poring over delta blues music her father brought back from his travels to the US. Soon, influenced by ambient and techno, she began using a sampler, and developed a unique folktronic sound. The solitary but generous tribute to everyday mysticism seen in her recent work takes on a tender visual manifestation in this video, recorded specially for the Rewire 2021 - online edition (please note: this is not the full performance). Filmed from a balcony as the sun set over the Tokyo cityscape, the performance feels like a raw and personal invitation into her soundworld.
