Thought to be Selected Originals from late 1940s material.
Interview with Major General Hilldregg and his wife: “Our most vivid recollection of our experiences on the “Princess Astrid“ was the behaviour of the passengers. After the first lifeboat had been launched there were still a 100 passengers on the Astrid, without in their minds at least of any immediate prospect of rescue. However, then out of nowhere came a French tug. The Captain lashed his tug to the side of the sinking ship, and with great risk to his tug, his crew and himself, he took the rest of us off. Thus came a very happy ending to a rather unpleasant experience“.
Possibly connected with 49/51 - MD.
