In many people’s opinion, and it’s hard to argue the point, the greatest country music duet to ever exist. Charlie and Ira Louvin done so much to perfect country harmony. Their switching of parts in a song is incredible!!! If you ever want to know what duet harmony is all about, these two brothers can show you how it’s done. Born and raised on the Sand Mountain plateu of Northeast Alabama, these two men become country music favorites on records and radio. They became members of the Grand Ole Opry in 1955 and had many hits. The Louvin Brothers disbanded in 1963, with each going their seperate , Ira was killed in an automobile accident in 1965 forever ending the hope and chance of the two ever reuniting. Still very popular today, Charlie Louvin continues on. The love of the music of the Louvin Brothers will never die.
