Microneedle Vaccine Patch | The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation

Adam Yamaguchi meets with Mark Prausnitz, Regents Professor of Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech and inventor of the microneedle vaccine patch. The microneedle vaccine patch is an alternative to the hypodermic needle, which is often scarier and more painful for children. Not only does the microneedle patch reduce pain with vaccinations, it also allows people around the world with insufficient access to healthcare personnel to administer their own vaccines. The microneedle patch is designed using a 10-by-10 square of water soluble microneedles that contain the vaccination. The patch is applied to the wrist, and pressed in for a few minutes until the needles have completely dissolved. Like, share, and subscribe!
