Niger Kicks Out French Uranium Miner Orano in 48 Hours!

President General Abdourahamane Tiani is set to kick out French uranium mining company Orano out of Naijja uranium mines if the company doesn’t come up with an acceptable deal within two days. When it happens, it could have major implications for France’s nuclear power industry and its energy security. The French company called Orano, which is 90% owned by the French state, operates three mines in the country, Akokan mining site, Aïr mines, and the Imouraren mine, located 80 kilometers south of Arlit, which is considered to be one of the world’s largest uranium deposits.
