Gwen McCrae, born Gwen Mosley on December 21, 1943, is a renowned American singer celebrated for her 1975 hit, “Rockin’ Chair“ and instant classic “Keep the Fire Burning”. Betty Wright played a crucial role in securing their contract with Stone’s Alston record label in 1967. Gwen soared to fame in March 1975 with her major hit, “Rockin’ Chair“ reaching number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the R&B chart. Her timeless classic “Keep the Fire Burning“ released in 1982, was rooted in personal experiences.
