Ruby-crowned kinglet / Рубиновоголовый королёк / Regulus calendula

A ruby-crowned kinglet (Regulus calendula) is shown in a small tree in Central Park on its way north to breed in Canada or possibly upstate New York or Northern New England. The ruby-crowned kinglet feeds on invertebrates, berries, and tree sap. It lays up to a dozen eggs in a cup nest. The ruby-crowned kinglet is assessed as being of least concern by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, and its population appears to be increasing.
