Primitive Digging Stick : The Stone-Age Wonder tool!
Today I created a Primitive Digging stick with a fire-hardened tip. This stone age tool is incredibly efficient at digging up root vegetables, slow moving animals such as grubs, slugs, and worms, as well as tree roots which can be used as cordage and lashing.
I began by sawing off a dead free standing limb approximately 4 feet in length. I think processed the limb with my hatched, removing knots, and the bark. The stave was then given an asymmetrical wedge on one end. The wedge end was then placed nea
