Easley Blackwood (Born 1933): Symphony No. 2, Op. 9 (1960) Indianapolis-born Easley Blackwood, pianist, music professor, author and composer, began his career at the age of 14 as a concert pianist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Among his teachers were such lumiaries as Olivier Messiaen, Paul Hindemith, and Nadia Boulanger. His compositions range from the conventional to twelve-tone and electronic music.
