A cat was admitted to the clinic with an open wound on the inner surface of the right forelimb. The overall condition is unremarkable; the cat has been quite active for the past couple of days, but prior to that, it was lethargic for several days (did an abscess burst?).
Upon examination, multiple superficial skin wounds and abrasions were observed, with no penetration into deep structures and no exudation. They do not require treatment (the cat roams freely outdoors).
On the medial surface of the shoulder of the right forelimb, in the area of the elbow joint, there is a wound opening, approximately 1.2 cm in diameter (with a wound cavity of about 3 ml). There are signs of involvement of adjacent muscles in the inflammatory process, and at the time of treatment, there is no exudation, only a small amount of hemorrhagic oozing. Sanitation was performed, situational sutures were applied, and it was recommended to cleanse the wound daily for 3 days.
After 3 days, a planned surgical closure of the wound was performed by primary intention, and 7 days later, the stitches were removed.
