How Komatsu makes the largest, most powerful hydraulic excavators in the world
Komatsu is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures construction, mining, forestry equipment, as well as diesel engines. The corporation was named after the city of Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Komatsu has manufacturing operations for production ecavators in Japan, Asia, Americas and Europe.

The Osaka Plant is known as the ‘mother factory’ for Komatsu construction machinery. In this biggest plant primarily produces medium- to large-size hydraulic excavators.
The Osaka Plant has two assembly shops, in which the assembly line for medium-size hydraulic excavators.
The Rokko Plant in Kobe City is assembles super-large hydraulic excavators by taking advantage of its proximity to Kobe Port to keep transport costs low.
