The last Bach suite I did was on the ukulele, which is much easier to play. By using Aquila-Corde’s Low A strings (ADGCEA - bass to treble) I feel the weight of notes does justice to Bach’s writing, without the need to add an accompanying bass line. 99% of what you hear is as written by Bach for the cello. So, thanks to all the encouraging comments I’ve received from many of you, they do help. I look quite sombre here, I think, but that’s just me trying to focus like crazy on the score, following a conversation Bach once had with himself, now with us.
