Meissner levitation

A strong magnet is placed on a YBaCuO pellet. The pellet is cooled with liquid nitrogen. Under the critical temperature it becomes superconducting, the magnet levitates - this is called the “Meissner effect“. A MOSEM video by Frederic Bouquet, Paris
