Stems (Live)

Though our songs have electronic elements to them, we always start by writing them as acoustic songs. We feel it gives the electronic version a more natural and organic feel if it originated from a guitar. This song, Stems, was written by Michael when he was living in Brazil. After visiting an old run down trap house in Rio he walked back home on the beach and couldn’t sleep. When he finally got home he wrote a poem based on what he saw that night to help him ease his mind and allow him to sleep. When he moved back to the US he and Andrew turned the song into an acoustic song and then into a darker and electronically produced single. Here is the acoustic version of Stems.
