Kayaking cops: Police commandeer kayaks to rescue drink driver from flood waters
POLICE Officers were forced to borrow kayaks from locals - after a drink-driver crashed into a flood.
Police in Sussex were called after motorist James Doyle misjudged the road and was stuck in water.
Cops then had to wade in to to reach him to conduct a breath test - which he failed.
Members of the public then offered Sussex Police officers kayaks so they could complete checks on the car.
The driver provided a sample of 120 microgrammes (uhg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres (ml) of breath.
