▼Synopsis When Nemuri Kyōshirō (Tamura Masakazu) returns to Edo after 3 years, a dispute is occurring in the shogunate regarding the proposed marriage for the Shogun’s successor, Tokugawa Ieyoshi (Wakayama Kiichirō). The shogunate’s senior advisor, Sakai Nobunari (Watabiki Katsuhiko), who supports Akiko (Mikan Ryou), the daughter of the regent Kujō Michifusa, plans to poison Kaoru (Takeda Kyoko), the one supported by the shogunate’s advisor, Mizuno Tadakuni (Itō Takao). Kyōshirō meets Mihoyo (Takeshita Keiko), a woman who is identical to his deceased mother, but discovers that she is a spy for Sakai and decides to prevent the poisoning.
