We had a bushfire start in the grampians from a line of lightning strikes on the morning of the 13th, this quickly escalated into two major fires one at Pomonal and one at Mt Stapleton which was the fire that would impact us, with the wind change to the southwest Dadswells Bridge was in the firing line.
The fire came through on hot, gusty winds and within an hour it had left the grampians and was out in grassland, the ferocity and speed of the fire was unbelievable and we are so thankful no lives were lost.
It has impacted many community members greatly with our greatest losses being a house to the north west of Dadswells Bridge, multiple sheds, 146 sheep that were killed as well as countless acres of pastures and fencing.
Majority of this footage was caught on the Uniden security camera on our garage. The house was under threat for nearly 30 minutes! Massive thanks to Forest fire management and CFA for their help in saving our property, we will never be able to thank you guys enough.
