Dub Station Zero at Kate Sessions Park - 9-22-24

Summer winds to an end, but we’re going strong at Kate Sessions Park, our new location. Please enjoy these fine words from our own @ioflow A lovely afternoon on the Modular San Diego mountainside. the cloudy, cool, windy weather was the perfect backdrop for the day’s meditative, moody music. Bad Baguette started with a bouncy, blippy stream of sparkling melodies and beats. a vibrant lightheartedness permeated the set: steady percussion branching out into catchy kick-snare patterns, arpeggiated ratchets, and duophonic melodies. Next, Kyle Munroe presented a layered series of juxtaposed rhythms, anchored by growly basses and jazzy drones: time-shifted, folded over, and reflowed into a collage of looping, sliding sequences punctuated by bursts of percussion. MSD organizers Noise Buddha, aka Tada Hirano and Johno Wells improvised an experimental duet of symphonic, spacious storytelling. Tada played an assortment of objects with chopsticks through the modular, including a cact
