Ukraine: Arkan (i.e., Vargan, Argan) at a Wedding in Rungury

This is footage of the dance arkan as it is still danced in parts of Hutsulshchyna; it was filmed at a wedding in August, 2008 as part of a project to capture what remains of authentic Hutsul dance in the region. In particular, this is footage of the arkan as it danced in the villages of Rungury and Sloboba, in the Kolomyjskyj rajon (Kolomyja county) in the Ivano-Frankivska oblast (Ivano-Frankivsk state).
