Fredrik Widigs (2016) - Marduk - Frontschwein (live drum cam)

This footage is of the title track of Marduk’s “Frontschwein”, recorded in Warsaw in 2016. The characteristic and somewhat unconventional snare pattern over the double-bass part in the middle of the song – which was meant to emphasise the vocal pattern – was the brilliant invention of Mortuus. Performing it correctly turned out to be quite the challenge, both technically and rhythmically, but it makes perfect sense once one fully grasps how the drums and vocals intertwine.
