Undesirable Aliens - Tod Sloan and Mlle d’Herlys deported - 1915. This is very mysterious. The footage is of a woman and man sitting at a table; perhaps in a nightclub; with dark palm wallpaper behind them; and a bottle of wine on the table They sit talking; he offers her a cigarette from a case; she takes one; he lights it; she smokes. As for ’Undesirable aliens’ - no specifics on that - are they spies? Or just plain undesirable? They really look like decadent nightlife people. The guy is dressed in formal wear; a tuxedo and top hat; and looks like a schemer playboy outlaw; in more modern times he’d be an entertainer with mob ties. The woman wears a shiny little hat with big buckle in front; a coat with black fur collar and cuffs; long beads; etc. like a precursor to the flapper; and with a pale complexion and dark eye shadow or else just dark circles; combined with her languid world-weary presence ... a real decadent underground type; more an opium den habituée than a gun moll.
