Alexander Jocheles plays Bach and Bach-Busoni - LP transfer

Alexander Jocheles playing pieces by Bach and chorale transcriptions by Busoni. Jocheles (1912-1978) studied with Konstantin Igumnov. He taught at the Moscow and Tbilisi Conservatories and the Gnessin Academy. Oleg Maisenberg was one of his students. Despite the distortion on this LP rip, it’s worth hearing for the rare repertoire and the excellent playing of this neglected pianist. Recording date unknown but probably towards the end of his life (LP released in 1977).
