Anastenaria - Village of Saint Helen (M.L. Carbonell, 1968)

The ceremony of Anastenaria. The religious sect of the Anastenarides in the little village of Saint Helen in Greece meets every year on the 21st of May to give public testimony of their faith. In the village square they make a huge bonfire and, when the logs have turned to burning coal, they dance barefoot on them without getting burned. Documentary Director M. L .
