Powerlifting Pioneer Profiles : Pat Casey, The Original “Power Bodybuilder“?

A brief history of the first man to OFFICIALLY bench press over 600lbs and squat over 800lbs in sanctioned Powerlifting meets. Over six foot tall and with a best bodyweight of 335lbs Pat was possibly the first “power bodybuilder“ . In an era when 15 mgs of Dianabol a day was considered the norm, not 3000 mgs of testosterone as a base,he lifted weights that only the elite of today, nearly 60 years laster, can hope to lift. They certainly don’t make them like Pat anymore.
