Lithops Capsule Opening - Time Lapse

A Lithops (Living Stone) fruit capsule opens after being sprayed with water (time-lapse). In the wild (Southern Africa), rain will open the Lithops capsule and then splash out the seeds. There is a whole group of succulents, mostly from South Africa, that have the same mechanism as Lithops. They are collectively called mesembs because they belong to the family Mesembryanthemaceae.
