Mile WR:Seb Coe,1981,Zurich

Coe looked less than confident in this race,but still managed to regain the mile world record he’d lost to Ovett the year before,setting a new time of in his wake were Kenyan Mike Boit,in a new African record,and Coe’s fellow countryman Steve Cram,in his first sub ’s an odd record in itself that Coe only ran the mile three times between 1979 and 1981,and broke the WR each time!
